Josh has been training horses, donkeys and mules for the better part of
30 years. He was also an AFA certified farrier, and worked under some
of the best farriers in the country. In his life, he has run the gammut of
training from rodeo saddle horses, to cutting, reining, hunting, packing,
ranch animals, as well as all phases of driving.

His life experiences in training has enabled him to develop a wonderful
understanding with problem horses. He has learned to bring their
troubled minds back to a state of feeling calm and secure within
themselves, as well as regaining their trust in humans.
Many people have described his ways as "Natural Horsemanship", but he is not a
follower of any of the "Natural" trainers out there. He has learned to read each
animal individually and use body language, energy and leadership skills to make
the animals more calm and want to follow him. He likes working with both the
animal and its owner, so the owner knows how to read them as well and won't
miss important cues and nuances that their animal is giving them.

The animals that he starts, through him, are calm, soft and well minded.
Studs(alot of the studs he works are dressage horses) and jacks become very
level headed and learn that the human is the leader, again through body language,
energy and leadership, not through harsh treatment, difficult measures and the
use of various "mechanical control devices". He does everything from halter
breaking, starting and working out problems to giving lessons and clinics.

Josh's clientele runs from the everyday person to fellow trainers who get "stuck"
with a certain animal. He is very clear and concise in explaining what he is doing
and how the animal is perceiving it. He is extremely positive in his methods and
takes the time for everyone to understand and gain confidence with what they are
doing. He enjoys having the owners being interactive with him and their animal
through the training process.
